KRISTIN TYLER HARRIS

BIO

Kristin is a highly-respected and experienced attorney in the Massachusetts civil litigation community. Throughout her 21 years as a civil litigator, she has represented clients in the District and Superior Courts of Massachusetts, as well as in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

Kristin represents both plaintiffs and defendants and concentrates primarily in the areas of personal injury, discrimination and harassment claims, and civil rights claims. She handles a variety of claims in all stages of the litigation process. Representative claims include but are not limited to the following: 

 

  • Slip and falls stemming from accumulation of ice and snow and other alleged defects 

  • Negligent security 

  • Negligent home inspections

  • Dram shop claims 

  • Violations of chapter 93A 

  • Motor vehicle accidents 

  • Construction site accidents

  • Employment harassment and/or discrimination

  • Public Accommodations

 

Kristin also has experience representing municipalities in claims brought pursuant to the Massachusetts Tort Claims Act and the Massachusetts and United States Civil Rights Acts, including claims for malicious prosecution, abuse of process, discrimination, and civil rights violations.

 

Kristin has successfully negotiated satisfactory settlements for many plaintiff clients without the need for trial. Additionally, Kristin has been successful in obtaining many pre-trial dismissals of claims on behalf of defendants for lack of jurisdiction and insufficient evidence.

Before starting her own practice, Kristin was an associate with Brody, Hardoon, Perkins & Kesten, LLP for 15 years. Prior to joining Brody, Hardoon, Perkins & Kesten, LLP, Kristin was also in private practice, specializing in civil litigation. In law school, she participated in the Suffolk Voluntary Defender's Program, representing indigent clients in the Boston Municipal Court. She also worked as an intern for the Suffolk Superior Court Probation Department.

 

In her free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, her three children, and her two dogs, Oliver (golden retriever) and Charlie (Bernese Mountain Dog). She began running in 2015 when she joined a local, all-women’s running club and participated in their train for your first 5K program.  Since then, she has completed several races, including 5Ks, 10Ks, multiple half marathons and several marathons.
